SDC-Music

• What do I need to do to get my songs recorded?

Just send us a basic demo of your songs. Singing or playing the melody with a guitar or keyboard would be fine, and a list of the chords if you know them.
The sound quality of the demo is not important. What's important is getting your ideas across.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

• What happens once I've sent my songs to you?

After listening to your demos we'll get back in touch with our ideas for the arrangements.
If you decide to go ahead a 50% deposit is then required.
The next step is the recording sessions, after which a sample of the finished tracks are sent to you for your approval.
Once you are happy with them you will then pay the final bill and the completed tracks will be sent to you.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

• What about copyright?

On final payment you will own the copyright to the recording outright and have total freedom to do what you like with the track.

• Do I have to know a lot about music to get my songs recorded?

No. We will handle all the technicalities of arranging and recording.
Your involvement can be kept to a minimum if you wish, so all we would need from you is a very basic demo of your songs.

• I have some definite ideas about how I want my songs to sound, will these be taken on board?

Yes. We are totally flexible in our way of working with songwriters.
We aim for you to end up with backings tracks you're completely happy with.

• I'm not much of a singer, can you record the vocals for me?

People's tastes can be very subjective when it comes to vocals, so we recommend you record them yourself or use a singer you already like the sound of.
If not, we will provide vocals for your project for an extra Fee.

• What if I don't like a backing track?

First, we will try to find out what you don't like about it and fix it.
If you're still not happy then you're free to walk away with nothing more to pay.
You can listen to some examples of our tracks in our clients page.

• Can you help get my songs published or recorded by other artist?

Several of our clients have been offered recording and publishing deals using the material recorded by SDC-Music. We are often asked to supply material by publishers and record companies, either for recording artists or for inclusion in film soundtracks.
With your permission, we would gladly include your tracks in these submissions.
